i havent use a soft box for years, i construct my own diffusion screens and find the flexiblity they offer far better than soft boxes
the lights linked look like crap to me, i have never seen them in use either in still photography or the TV world
honestly two $10 flash units behind diffusion panels would give you better results (well for me anyway),
lights are very complicated to use, someone that knows lighting can use any old flash lights to get good results - its about the knowledge not the lights one uses
so my idea would be go learn lighting before investing in lights - that way you wil know what to buy, try a community college night course or something
