Digital Wedding Photography - Professional Techniques and Styles That You Can Use
Everyone can feel sentimental at times and when this happens, people often enjoy looking through albums full of good memories for them.
Photographs taken of the events surrounding someone’s wedding day are amongst the most cherished memories captured.
Because of this, most people will have professional photographers taking pictures before, during and after the wedding. Depending on the photographer’s style, they may not have people pose in traditional wedding positions. The photographer will just wait for the moment that they want to catch on film. Many photographers will has an assistant help them at the wedding and they will work to provide the client with professional and long lasting photographed memories for many years to come.
What if you would also want to use your digital camera to take pictures of a friend’s wedding?
Below are some tips on style and technique you can use to help capture great pictures with your digital camera.
1. Before you take a picture of a couple or certain fixture area, you need to check the background of the area and make sure it is something you want reflected in the picture.
2. Once you have a good background, you can take several pictures in different ways, such as from the shoulders up vs. always entire body shots.
3. Next you need to consider the people in the picture, to make sure you get them at their best, for instance, if someone is wearing glasses have them move their head slightly so the flash will not reflect off them. 4 If there is a couple or a group that you wish to include in the picture, you should zoom in or out of the picture. 5. You must not shoot a couple or any guest against the light so that dark images will not appear. 6. Taking several candid shots are fun and make great memories for the couple too. These type of pictures are not done just for good quality. In fact, many professionals do this to capture intimate and memorable moments. 7. Asking people to pose is not something you should do very much of and in fact, most of the pictures should be taken at random; so stay alert.
8. Make sure you have all the supplies and back-up supplies you need for your digital camera so you don’t miss a great shot just because you memory card gets full.
Having a extra memory card available is always a good idea, because you will not have to worry about running lot of space before the event has ended. The following suggestions should be considered before buying a memory card:
a. For 3 mega pixels - a 256 MB memory card b. For 4 mega pixels - a 512 MB memory card c. Use a 1 GB memory card for 6 mega pixels
9. You are not advised to use low resolutions if the images will be displayed and hung later.
By using high resolution on the pictures taken, the couple can have the photographs enlarged and the image will not be distorted.
10. Keep a copy of your best works so you can use and reuse the techniques that made your viewers smile and appreciate your creation more.
You can do this by saving albums on your personal computer to free up the space in your memory card. There are software programs available that you can use to make a good picture even better.
Digital Photography is a beautiful form of art. Wedding is a wonderful event. Taking professional digital photographs at a wedding will help the couple and family members enjoy these sentimental memories for many years to come. The success of this will all depend on your camera, your love for this art and the couple.
