A few small islands, but three very popular holiday hot-spots
In the Caribbean is some of the worlds most amazing wildlife and scenery. These islands offer us a great fun and adventurous time, not to mention somewhere to relax and have a dip in the sea.
Tobago has always been a fantastical cricket destination. Everyone who knows about cricket knows how mad these people are about it. Small in area, this island is big in personality, it can offer everyone a fun packed vacation. You can visit one of the world oldest rain forests and even join in on some cricket games, but only if the locals let you. Scuba diving is a must do on this island, with such a diverse amount of marine, ranging from the worlds largest coral brain, to Giant Manta Rays. Tobago holidays are exciting and fun.
Quickly becoming the place to go is Grenada. A little larger than Tobago, Grenada is a holiday where you can visit the sights and fill your camera to the brim with stunning photos. In Grenada you will find that many of the states original cultures are still flourishing all over the island. The Flamenco dancing is a massive tradition, and takes place most nights at select bars and restaurants, this dance is amazing to watch. If you want to go on a little adventure, you can take a trip through Las Alpujarnas where you can walk through some Andalusian Landscape. Grenada holidays are all about enjoying the surrounding culture.
St Lucia holidays are a fast growing holiday hot-spot. This location is renowned for its general beauty all over the island. White beaches, blue skies and clear seas, if this is what you want in a holiday, then this place has it. St Lucia brings a whole new meaning to beautiful scenery. This Island holiday is for the people that like to relax, go and get yourself pampered and treated like royalty.
Camera, hot shoe adaptor, external flash... is it necessary?
I have a Canon Rebel XTi and 580EX II. I use a hot shoe adaptor as a surge protector between my camera and external flash. The external flash locks on nicely to the adaptor, but the adaptor does not lock onto the camera. It seems a bit heavy, and I'm afraid it will slip off. Is it really necessary to have the adaptor?
It depends on the external flash. If its new, and designed for a digital camera, you probably don't need it, especially if it is also a Cannon brand. BUT, if it is an older model, one originally designed for a film SLR, or made by an aftermarket company you almost certainly do need it. Older models used different voltages and current in their triggering circuits, and some of them were a lot higher than today's DSLR's. You could burn out your hot shoe, or even the whole circuitry of the camera. The combo you list probably doesn't need it, but I would definitely read every page of the flash and camera manuals before I used it without the surge protector. Also It wouldn't hurt to call Cannon's tech support, and ask them if they can advise you.
